The Newbury was founded by owner Peter Lumber. The concept came about as there seemed to be a gap in Newbury town centre for a restaurant that served great, seasonal, British food, in a relaxed environment, particularly one that puts an emphasis on quality local produce.
It’s something Peter is passionate about and after lots of research, location hunting and a complete refurb, The Newbury was born.
Launched in the summer of 2012, they are constantly looking at ways to further improve our offering. The purchase of a small holding to supply pork and honey and the addition of the in-house smoker really shows the passion and dedication for quality local produce. Add to this great service and friendly staff and you have an excellent recipe for a great drinking and eating experience.
