In June 2012 The Newbury was born. Peter Lumber and co-director renovated the old Bricklayers Arms and reopened a new, sophisticated gastropub in the heart of Newbury.
A stylish and unique venue offering a great selection of drinks including real ales and amazing spirits, alongside food that is cooked fresh on site using local artisan produce.
The pub has a warm welcoming feel with a spacious bar area, relaxing lounge area, separate dining area, private dinning rooms, state of the art multimedia meeting rooms and also a spacious roof terrace where we cater for parties of all sizes. Our General Manager has a wealth of experience in hospitality from around the world, alongside a strong team who are passionate about food and delivering a first class dining experience.
Our chef’s table and deli dresser has homemade piccalilli, peaches soaking in Pinot Grigio and cranberry ketchup brewing ready for Christmas, as well as a wealth of recipe books collected over the years.
Recently we have gained entry into both the Michelin guide and Michelin’s new Eating Out in Pubs 2015. Other recent achievements for The Newbury include being recommended in the 2014/15 Alistair Sawday’s Special Places to Eat and Drink and being named The Good Pub Guide County Dining Pub of the Year 2015. Just as exciting was winning the Independent Restaurant/Pub category at the West Berkshire Business Award 2014, as well as being runners up for the Social Media Award. Last but by no means least The Newbury was awarded Sprit Leased Pub of the year 2014.
A fabulous dining experience in the centre of a historical market town, we look forward to welcoming you soon!
